The 1998 Acura Integra Sports Coupe and Sports Sedan lineup encompasses innovative technology, craftsmanship, and high-quality performance that promises owners an "exhilarating" drive every day. For 1998, the Acura Integra is available in five Sports Coupe trim levels (RS, LS, GS, GS-R and Type R) and three Sports Sedan trim levels (LS, GS and GS-R). Joining the lineup for the second year is the limited-edition, high-performance Integra Type R.

Among Integra's new product features for 1998 are exterior styling changes, including aerodynamically designed front and rear facias, new front and rear combination lamps and lenses -- revealing a sleeker, sportier look.
The RS, LS and GS models come equipped with a 1.8-liter, DOHC, 16-valve engine producing 140-horsepower. They are available with a standard 5-speed manual or optional electronically-controlled, 4-speed automatic transmission. The GS-R models feature 1.8-liter, 170-horsepower, DOHC, 16-valve engine equipped with the innovative Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system. The GS-R models are available exclusively with a performance-oriented, close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission.
For increased comfort inside, the LS, GS and GS-R models include a new tilt and height adjustable driver's seat while a leather-wrapped shifter and steering wheel are standard on leather-trimmed models. The exterior of the GS-R models feature a new 15-inch alloy wheel design and the new 1998 LS now includes machine-finished 14-inch alloy wheels. In addition, pre-wiring for the optional security system is standard equipment on the new 1998 Integras and all models receive a revised wiper/washer system featuring an auto "swipe" with washer.
All 1998 Integra models include power-assisted, 4-wheel disc brakes and dual airbags. Also standard on the LS, GS and GS-R models is an anti-lock braking system, to help the driver retain steering control even during maximum braking.
Returning in the spring of 1998, the Acura Integra Type R is designed for true performance enthusiasts looking for quick response and exceptional acceleration. With its 195-horsepower, 1.8-liter, DOHC, 16-valve VTEC engine, the Integra Type R delivers a thrilling drive.
All 1998 Integra models are equipped with a complete list of standard comfort and convenience items, such as a tilt-adjustable steering column, power windows and door mirrors, a remote fuel-filler door release and a six-speaker AM/FM/CD music system. The Integra LS, GS and GS-R models include a high-capacity air conditioning system and power moonroof as standard equipment and the power locking system on the coupe models now incorporates the tailgate lock.
The 1998 Integras have new exterior and interior colors with the GS and LS models available in a new Cayenne Red Pearl, while the GS-Rs will be unveiled in Supersonic Blue Pearl. The new Parchment interior color will be available with the Cypress Green and Flamenco Black exterior colors.
