Statement by American Honda Regarding SRS Control Unit Recall: 2019 Honda Insight, Odyssey and Ridgeline

  • 118 vehicles are affected; recall only in the United States
  • SRS Control Units will be replaced, free of charge
  • Issue discovered during quality control check at the control unit vendor; No customer reports related to this issue

Honda will voluntarily recall 118 model-year 2019 Insight, Odyssey and Ridgeline vehicles, only in the United States, to replace Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Control Units, free of charge. A circuit board on the affected SRS Control Units may have been damaged during production. A damaged SRS Control Unit may not properly deploy the side, side curtain and knee airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners during a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Honda has received no customer reports related to this issue, which was discovered during quality control checks at the vendor.

Honda is announcing this recall to encourage owners of affected vehicles to take them to an authorized dealer as soon as possible for the free repair. Mailed notification to owners of affected vehicles will occur in late-November 2018. Owners of these models can also determine if their vehicles require repair now by visiting www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (888) 234-2138.
