American Honda Announces Pricing for 2002 Insight

The price of the 2002 Honda Insight is increasing an average of 0.5 percent compared to last year's suggested retail price, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. announced today.

The increase for the 2002 model year represents a $200 growth over last year's manufacturer's suggested retail price on each model. The 5-speed manual transmission Insight has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $19,080, the 5-speed with air conditioning costs $20,280 and the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) model with air conditioning is priced at $21,280. Destination and handling charges for all three models remain unchanged at $440.

Fuel economy ratings for all three models of the Insight make it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the world. With EPA fuel economy ratings for the 5-speed manual transmission model at 61 mpg city and 68 mpg highway, and the model equipped with a CVT at 57 mpg city and 56 mpg highway, the Insight is the most-fuel efficient vehicle in America with a manual or automatic transmission.

The 2002 Insight offers an extensive assortment of standard features, including anti-lock brakes, electric power steering, dual air bags, AM/FM stereo cassette, power windows and mirrors, power door locks with keyless entry and an anti-theft Immobilizer system.
