Honda Rearview Report: August 10 - August 23, 2019

"This week we announced the latest efforts in our pursuit of Honda's Safety for Everyone commitment, with the introduction of our next-generation passenger front airbag that we will begin applying to new products in the United States in 2020. This new airbag is a truly clean-sheet approach to airbag design, born out of the hearts and minds of our U.S. engineers at Honda R&D Americas and backed by more than 20 years of advancing our safety engineering capabilities in North America.

Our Safety for Everyone commitment aims toward a collision-free society in which all road users -- including the occupants of our vehicles and others, and more vulnerable pedestrians and cyclists -- can more safely and confidently enjoy the freedom of mobility. In pursuit of this commitment, we established one of the world's most advanced safety research facilities in Ohio in 2003, which has led to leading efforts in pedestrian safety, collision safety with our ACE™ body structure and the new airbag we announced this week.

I am incredibly proud of my Honda R&D Americas colleagues and of our global Honda safety engineering team and all that they are doing on a daily basis to help save lives and advance Honda toward our ultimate goal of a collision-free society. With effort, passion, and challenging spirit, we will work to make this dream a reality."
