Honda's new S2000 roadster carries not only the most powerful engine in its class, it also meets California's tough Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) standards. This remarkable achievement gives the 240-horsepower sports car both high performance and low emissions -- considered mutually exclusive until now.
The S2000's 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, DOHC VTEC engine puts out 120-horsepower per liter, more than any other normally-aspirated production engine. Honda's sophisticated powerplant design and extremely precise engine calibration enables the Honda S2000 to be the first high performance sports car to meet LEV standards. The sleek roadster made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in December, and it will go on sale in the United States, Japan and Europe this fall.
