Statement by American Honda Regarding Fuel Pump Recall: Certain 2018-2020 Acura and Honda Models

  • 628,124 vehicles are affected in the United States
  • Fuel pumps will replaced for free
  • No reports of crashes or injuries

American Honda will voluntarily recall 628,124 model-year 2018-2020 Acura and Honda vehicles in the United States to replace their fuel pumps, for free. The fuel pumps installed in these vehicles may contain defective impellers, which could, over time, result in a loss of engine power or vehicle stalling, potentially increasing the risk of a crash. Honda has received no reports of crashes or injuries related to this condition.

Honda is announcing this recall to encourage each owner of an affected vehicle to take it to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Acura or Honda. Mailed notification to owners will occur in late-May 2021. Owners of these models can also determine if their specific vehicles are included in the recall by visiting www.recalls.acura.com or www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (888) 234-2138, Monday-Friday: 6am-5pm PT.
