Bob Brizendine is vice president of Information Technology at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM), responsible for setting the strategic direction for Information Technology (IT) in North America and overseeing IT services for Honda’s R&D, sales, service, captive finance and manufacturing functions. In this role, he supports the company’s automobile, powersports, power equipment, marine and aviation product lines.

Brizendine joined Honda in 1988 as a system designer and developer in the Information Technology department at Honda of America Mfg., Inc. (HAM).

In 1991, Brizendine became a project leader responsible for several large and transformative IT projects in the manufacturing, supply chain and product costing domains at HAM.

In 2000, Brizendine was appointed manager of new IT systems development at HAM, responsible for planning and oversight of all new system development projects, including Honda’s external supplier facing systems.

In 2004, Brizendine became senior manager of IT Planning and Strategy at HAM, leading the establishment of a unified manufacturing IT function for Honda’s North American production operations. 

In 2007, he became the assistant vice president of North American Manufacturing Information Technology at HAM. In this role he was responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of IT services for Honda’s nine North American manufacturing plants and supply chain and logistics.

In April 2013, he assumed the role of vice president of Information Technology at Honda North America, LLC, leading Honda in North America through several major IT consolidation activities across R&D, manufacturing and sales. As part of this consolidation, Brizendine’s responsibility became part of American Honda Motor Co., where he also has been playing a critical role in the integration of the company’s digital functions across multiple product areas and business units.

In addition to his role at AHM, Brizendine serves as Honda’s North American representative to the Global IS Management Board, he chairs the North American IS Management Board, co-chairs the Consumer Experience Steering Committee, and is a Steering Committee member of the Data Privacy Governance Committee and North American Cyber Security Committee.
