Year-to-date American Honda sales of 801,646 are 9.6 percent ahead
of last year's all-time record pace.
"When you're hot you're hot, and in August we were sizzling," said Dick Colliver, American Honda executive vice president. "The big percentage increases were in light trucks, and we also sold more than 42,000 Accords (a new August record), 34,000 Civics and nearly 13,000 Acuras." Pacing the Honda Division increase was a new all-time monthly record for light truck sales of 26,261, led by an all-time CR-V monthly sales mark of 12,621 and a 30.8 percent increase in Odyssey sales to 11,043, a new August record.
Acura Division sales were led by a 20.6 percent increase in the CL to 2,640 and a new August record for TL sales of 6,123.
