Going into it's third model year on the market, demand for the S2000 has never been stronger. Sales this year are running 50 percent ahead of 2000. Slightly improved availability could allow for S2000 sales of about 8,000 this year.
The 2002 S2000 offers a number of refinements that have been high on customer "wish lists." Those features include:
- A glass rear window with defroster
- An improved transmission for smoother and quieter shifts
- Upgraded stereo system (30 watts per channel from 20) with door-mounted tweeters, an anti-theft feature and silver face plate
- Refined tail lights with chrome rings
--A host of interior refinements including:
--Upgraded center console
--Door panel net storage pockets
--New aluminum and leather shift knob
--Aluminum accented foot rest
--Silver trim accents - New Suzuka Blue Color w/blue interior
- Sebring Silver replaces Silverstone
- On sale November 1, 2001
