Honda honored 22 suppliers that provide indirect products and services to Honda manufacturing plants and business operations across the U.S. during its annual Honda Indirect Procurement Supplier Conference in Dublin, Ohio on June 8.
The 22 suppliers were selected from more than 5,000 North American indirect procurement suppliers that provide a wide variety of equipment, products and services that support Honda’s U.S. business operations and the manufacturing of automobiles, engines, transmissions, powersports and power equipment products in America.*
The awardees were selected for achievements in the categories of Supplier of the Year, New Supplier, Sustainability, Challenging Spirit and Outstanding Value. These honorees represent the extensive network of North American suppliers critical to Honda’s U.S. business operations. In 2021, indirect purchasing for business and manufacturing operations across North America totaled $4.2 billion.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to honor Honda’s top indirect suppliers in person for the first time in two years,” said Monica Oliverio, assistant vice president and division lead of the North American Indirect Procurement Division, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Our award-winning suppliers made a big contribution to our success during the past year and set the standard for the passion and Challenging Spirit we strive for at Honda.”
The indirect suppliers providing equipment, products and services to Honda are local, national and international in scope. This includes new suppliers and many that have grown along with Honda in North America since the company began production in Ohio in 1979.
