Honda Rearview Report: December 21, 2019 - January 31, 2020

"This year’s Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB), our 17th invitational showcase, saw eight marching bands and dance teams from among the nation’s top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) perform for an energetic crowd of nearly 60,000 fans in Atlanta, GA.

Honda’s commitment to HBCUs began 30 years ago with the creation of the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge, a year-round academic program that shines a spotlight on HBCU scholars. We expanded this commitment with the establishment of Honda Battle of the Bands in 2003. Together, these programs have benefited nearly 200,000 students with over $12 million in grants to develop and enhance education and music programs at HBCUs.

Honda’s essential idea, that we can create a better world for people through original ideas and determination is expressed in our corporate slogan, ‘The Power of Dreams.’ Our support of HBCUs is a critical part of our company’s longstanding commitment to higher education, through which young people can gain the confidence and knowledge they need to pursue their own special dreams.

We continue to be inspired by these incredible student musicians and are proud to join the many thousands of fans—including Honda associates—in celebrating their talents.”
