HRI Scientists Achieve Breakthrough in Quantum Materials
Scientists at Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. (HRI-US) have made a significant breakthrough in the fields of quantum materials and quantum communications by developing a novel method for growing atomically thin nanoribbons – one atom thick and tens of atoms wide ribbon-shaped materials – creating the potential for unbreakable secure communication of sensitive information. Right: Nanoribbon material is strained over cone-shaped probe and excited by laser, producing a stream of photons that can be used for encoding information.
