BACKGROUND:
Developed as the U.S. arm of Ilmor, Ltd., Ilmor Engineering, Inc.
has
an IndyCar heritage dating back to 1984, when the parent
company was
started by Mario Illien and the late Paul Morgan, with support
from
Roger Penske. Ilmor Engineering, Inc., was formed in 1990 as
the
North American arm of Ilmor to oversee the day-to-day operation
of
the company's IndyCar racing program. In partnership with
Honda
Performance Development, Ilmor provides trackside services to
Honda-powered teams in the IRL.
