Honda Performance Development, Inc.

Background: Honda Performance Development (HPD), a subsidiary of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., is the technical operations center for Honda's U.S. auto racing programs. Currently, HPD is focused on American Honda's participation in the IRL IndyCar series.

Location: Santa Clarita, CA

Facility: In January 2005, HPD relocated its operations to a 123,000 square-foot building in Santa Clarita. The two story structure houses comprehensive engine research and development operations including design, development engineering, prototype and production parts manufacturing, engine preparation, rebuilding, materials analysis, quality control inspection, four state-of-the-art, transient-style engine test dynamometers, parts distribution and administrative offices.
