BACKGROUND:
Honda Performance Development (HPD), a subsidiary of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., is the technical operations center for Honda's IndyCar program. HPD coordinates American Honda's participation in the IRL IndyCar Series.

ESTABLISHED:
April 1, 1993

LOCATION:
Santa Clarita, Calif. (Approximately 30 miles north of Los Angeles)

FACILITY:
HPD operates out of a 43,500 square foot building in Santa Clarita. This two-story structure houses comprehensive engine preparation, rebuilding and inspection areas, dyno/test cells, a machine shop, parts center, administrative offices, meeting rooms and engineering facilities.
