Honda Performance Development, the leader of Honda and Acura high-performance and motorsports programs in North America, today announced a multi-year partnership with Pennzoil. Together, HPD and Pennzoil hope that the success on the track will further enable Pennzoil's development of premium motor oil – a winning outcome for both.
Looking into the future, both HPD and Pennzoil are moved by the thrill of competitive motorsports and pushing the limits of racing technology under extreme conditions. The Pennzoil brand, part of the Shell family of lubricants, has been involved in high-level motorsports for many years, helping drivers experience success on the track.
The sponsorship and technical discussions between Shell scientists and HPD engineers deepen the understanding of engine design and lubricant environments. The engine oils are evaluated for horsepower gains and durability and signed off for track use.
Looking into the future, both Honda and Pennzoil are also seeking solutions for the changing mobility landscape, offering energy aligned with their net-zero target. Pennzoil is further developing advanced low carbon fuels, biofuels and synthetic liquid fuels and working with our customers to offer low carbon product solutions to avoid, reduce and mitigate emission from energy use. Using Pennzoil's metering technology in motorsports, HPD is able to determine where the most energy is used, and where it can be reduced.
