Honda Power Equipment Generates Collegiate Football Fun

Honda Power Equipment today announced that it has renewed sponsorship agreements with two college football powerhouses from the SEC Conference. The University of Alabama and Auburn University once again have named Honda's Super Quiet EU Series of portable generators as the Official Generator for their 2009 college football seasons.

As part of its sponsorships for this football season, Honda is providing Super Quiet lightweight portable generators to power the corporate sponsor and hospitality areas for both universities. These generators, with totally enclosed bodies, operate at noise levels as low as 49 dB, roughly the noise level in a private office.

Honda generators also are powering the Tiger Fan Fest at Auburn and the Quad and Coca-Cola Fan Fest areas at the University of Alabama. In addition, the company is providing its Ultimate Tailgating Experience, an entertaining, interactive tailgating display during home games at both universities. The display demonstrates Honda generators in action, providing quiet, clean power for college football tailgating.

"Special events and tailgating activities have become a staple of college football games, with event hosts setting up TVs, computers, speaker systems, fans, heaters, blenders, cookers and other gear that contribute to the ambience of the outdoor football experience," said Steve Bailey, vice president, Honda Power Equipment. "Honda's recreational generators, designed for the ultimate in quality, convenience, portability, quiet operation and fuel efficiency, are an ideal match for the electricity-hungry needs of college football weekend events."

The Honda Super Quiet Series generators, the EU1000i, EU2000i, EU3000is and EU6500is - are high-quality generators that provide quiet, compact, portable power. To tap into team spirit, Honda is marketing three commerative EU2000i generators - ideal for any trip to the great outdoors - branded for Auburn University available at auburntigers.com/honda, the University of Alabama available at rolltide.com/honda and the University of Georgia available at georgiadogs.com/honda. Each compact, 46-pound generator sports a team logo and special football team graphics.

This model can be easily carried and conveniently stored in a small recreational vehicle compartment. It also can be connected in parallel to another EU2000i or EU2000i companion to work in tandem, with both units delivering their full combined power. The EU2000i can provide up to 9.6 hours of running time on just 1.1 gallons of gasoline. All Honda generators with inverter technology feature the only three-year warranty in the industry.

Honda Power Equipment markets a complete line of generators for consumer and commercial applications. Lightweight, compact Honda generators produce between 1,000 and 6,500 watts of power, providing quiet, smooth, dependable power for recreation, construction, rental and emergency use. All Honda generators are powered by Honda four-stroke engines that make Honda generators among the world's quietest.
