Honda Power Equipment has introduced an all-new version of its extremely popular Mini-tiller. Redesigned from the ground up to be the best four-stroke tiller/cultivator for residential customers, it also will be the first of its kind specifically designed for commercial and rental applications.
Scheduled for release in early 2005 as a replacement for the Honda FG100, the new Honda FG110 will be available through Honda Power Equipment dealers and The Home Depot nationwide, with an MSRP of $379.
"The Honda Mini-tiller changed the way consumers think about buying and using tillers with a combination of portability, ease of use, and value not found in larger tillers," said Honda Power Equipment vice president, Steve Bailey. "The FG110 builds on this success with unique tines, a more advanced engine and more robust components."
Consistent with the commercial and rental focus of Honda's entire tiller lineup, the Honda FG110 features a new commercial grade transmission with a heavy-duty drive gear that is 70 percent larger in diameter. A new front engine guard minimizes the potential for damage during transport and doubles as a convenient carrying handle, while an increase in handlebar diameter from 3/4" to 7/8" adds additional strength.
Further strengthening the package is an innovative new hybrid tine design that incorporates the attributes of both digging and cultivating tines. Developed by Honda engineers, the proprietary design works with a high tine speed of 264 rpm to maximize digging and cultivating performance without compromising one for the other. The FG110's torque characteristics work with the new, more aggressive, tine design allowing the user to easily and effectively till around delicate plants without requiring constant full-throttle power application.
The heart of the new tiller is Honda's compact and efficient GX25 four-stroke engine that is 360 degree inclinable so it can be stored in any position. The result is a tiller that requires no mixing of oil and gas, while delivering the ease of starting, reliability, fuel efficiency, low noise, and low emissions that Honda products are known for. A significant reduction in weight over the FG100's engine enables the addition of heavy-duty commercial grade components without compromising the unit's overall portability.

- De-thatcher
