It boasts Honda’s largest ATV power plant, which is an efficient liquid-cooled 675cc single-cylinder with the crankshaft aligned with the vehicle’s direction of travel, for a direct link to the rear axle. The three-speed automatic transmission can also be shifted via handlebar-mounted push buttons using Honda’s popular Electronic Shift Program (ESP®), and the premium, long-travel Independent Rear Suspension system delivers an enhanced ride. Rugged bodywork and steel racks are prepared for the hard work required of multipurpose ATVs, so this won’t-quit machine is always willing to put in the work while maintaining rider comfort. (Due to a regulatory change, the 2022 Rincon is a 49-state model and is not for sale in California.)
ENGINE / DRIVETRAIN
- The powerful, liquid-cooled, OHV 675cc single is Honda’s largest ATV engine.
- With overhead valves and a semi-dry-sump design, the engine is compact, resulting in good ground clearance and a low center of gravity.
- Thanks to Programed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) and a 40 mm throttle body, the Rincon runs smoothly no matter what the elevation or meteorological conditions.
- The head has dual spark plugs for clean, thorough combustion and great fuel efficiency.
- The FourTrax Rincon has a tough, truck-style three-speed automatic transmission, so there’s no belt to slip or clutch to wear out.
- Three-speed transmission allows choice between automatic and manual shifting. With Electric Shift Program mode (ESP), manual gear changes are accomplished via handlebar-mounted push buttons—more easily actuated than a foot lever when riding with heavy boots.
- Depending on the situation or riding conditions, the rider can easily select between two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive by utilizing TraxLok.
- Engine is longitudinally mounted, with the crankshaft oriented in the direction of travel. This does away with unnecessary right angles in the drivetrain, reducing friction and efficiently transferring more power to the wheels.
- With a catalytic converter, riders can protect the great outdoors while they’re enjoying it.
