2026 Honda XR150L Features & Benefits

Built with practicality, reliability and everyday adventure in mind, Honda's XR150L continues to define accessibility in the dual-sport world. Prioritizing value and simplicity, the model bridges the gap between daily transportation and off-road exploration. Whether navigating city streets, traversing farm roads or exploring forest trails, the XR150L delivers dependable performance and approachable handling that inspire confidence. Backed by the legendary toughness of Honda's XR lineage, Honda's smallest dual-sport machine is the ultimate gateway to two-wheeled freedom.

HISTORY

While it has only been offered in the U.S. since the 2023 model year, the XR150L has a longer history abroad, as it was launched in Asian and Latin American markets in 2014. Over the years, its appeal as a low-cost, reliable, entry-level dual-sport bike has proven to be universal.

DESIGN / STYLING

The XR150L's simple, rugged design reflects the bike's practical dual-sport purpose, with clean lines and functional body panels built to handle everyday use. Meanwhile, a classic, natural, upright dual-sport riding position—courtesy of a tall handlebar—promotes rider comfort and contributes to predictable, confident handling. The plush seat, with low overall height, further inspires confidence by enabling stable footing for steady starts and stops. The foot pegs feature rubber isolators that dampen vibration, enhancing the smooth, comfortable ride. The rear rack provides convenient cargo space for luggage and supplies.

ENGINE / DRIVETRAIN

With bore-and-stroke figures of 57.3mm and 57.8mm, the 149.2cc air-cooled four-stroke engine offers legendary XR toughness and reliability and produces smooth, predictable power. Capable of cruising speeds, the engine is tuned to also competently handle around-town riding and confidently negotiate dirt roads and trails. Remarkably efficient, the small-displacement engine has a wide powerband and pairs with a largest-in-class 2.8-gallon fuel tank to provide an incredibly long riding range (a test by Honda exceeded 340 miles). The XR150L features a convenient electric starter.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION

Geometry
Overall length of the XR150L is 81.7 inches, and wheelbase is 53.5 inches. Trail is 4.1 inches (104mm), while rake is 27.0º. The seat height is low at 32.8 inches. With a full fuel tank and all required fluids, curb weight is 282 pounds.

Frame
The XR150L's steel frame is designed to handle the intensity of off-road travel. A tubular-steel rear rack provides a platform to secure a small load.

Suspension
The suspension strikes a great balance, the 31mm conventional fork and single rear shock delivering 7.1 inches and 5.9 inches of front and rear wheel travel, respectively—enough to absorb the bumps and rocks of a dirt road or trail, but not so much that the seat height is excessive. Suspension settings are optimized for a comfortable, controlled ride on the pavement and in the dirt.

Wheels
Even with the XR150L's low seat height, it still boasts full-size wheels (19-inch front, 17-inch rear), allowing it to roll over potholes and rough off-road terrain, while also promoting stability at speed.

Brakes
The dual-piston hydraulic front caliper is paired with a 240mm rotor for strong, precise braking. Out back, a 110mm drum brake provides reliable performance in a wide variety of conditions.
