2026 Honda TRX90X Features & Benefits

For generations, Honda’s TRX90X has introduced young riders to the excitement and freedom of off-road adventure. Designed to inspire confidence from the first ride, it delivers the ideal blend of approachability, safety features and reliability that parents can trust. From its durable chassis and smooth, manageable power delivery to its proven ease of use, the TRX90X sets the standard for youth ATVs by sparking a lifelong passion for riding—embodying Honda’s belief that the best way to learn is by having fun.

HISTORY

Introduced for the 1993 model year as the FourTrax 90, Honda’s smallest ATV was designed for riders 12 and older, with roomy ergonomics and a smooth-running 89cc four-stroke engine. While updates since then have focused mainly on colors and graphics, the model has consistently proven to be a favorite among young riders and families thanks to its durability, simplicity and rider-friendly performance.

DESIGN / STYLING

Stylish, sport-inspired graphics, color-matched front shock springs and blacked-out wheels give the TRX90X its sporty looks.

ENGINE / DRIVETRAIN

Honda’s legendary 86cc SOHC four-stroke engine offers a smooth spread of power that’s both rider-friendly and fun to enjoy on the trail. Bore and stroke are 47.0mm and 49.5mm, respectively, while the compression ratio is 9.2:1. Induction is managed by a 16mm piston-valve carburetor, and the ignition is a DC-CDI.

The TRX90X offers the best of both worlds for new Red Riders: an automatic clutch for simple starting and stopping, and a four-speed semiautomatic transmission so that young users can learn to shift with the foot lever.

Push-button electric start gets every ride off to an easy beginning, and a keyed ignition ensures parents or guardians get to decide who gets to ride and when.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION

The TRX90X has an overall length of 58.6 inches and a wheelbase of 38.7 inches. The seat height is a low 26.0 inches, and ground clearance is 3.9 inches.

Compliant rear-suspension action is accomplished via a single shock absorber delivering 2.6 inches of wheel travel, for a balance of good handling and comfort on the trail. The front end features independent suspension with twin shock absorbers offering 2.6 inches of wheel travel.
