Honda Riders Impress at Anaheim Three

The Honda Red Riders took on round six of the 2010 Supercross series at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA on Saturday, February 13, and Honda Red Bull Racing’s Davi Millsaps put in a solid performance aboard his Honda CRF450R®.

With teammate Andrew Short out injured, Millsaps was Honda Red Bull Racing’s sole representative at the final Anaheim round in the series. The Honda racer was among the top contenders early on in the race along with GEICO Powersports Honda’s Kevin Windham. The Honda pair tailed one another for seven laps until KW made a pass on Millsaps that stuck and the veteran racer moved into third spot. Millsaps battled on between fourth and fifth position. In the end, Windham scored his second podium finish of the season by taking third place while Millsaps nabbed fifth.

“It’s great finishing on the box,” said Windham. “I rode well, felt good and this is a result I’m really happy with. I finished second on the Anaheim One podium and to come out at Anaheim Three and score another podium finish is just awesome. I still have a big fire and the will to win in me, and that’s why I’m out here racing. My team continues to give me a great race bike week after week and for that they deserve to enjoy this result.”

In the Supercross Lites West competition, GEICO Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard collected his second win of the season aboard his CRF250R®. Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda’s Wil Hahn grabbed the holeshot in the main, but Canard was quick to get around him on the opening lap. Once out front, Canard never surrendered his lead and he stayed in the top spot for the entire 15 laps. Hahn displayed good speed to finish in third place and Canard’s teammate Blake Wharton rode a strong race to finish fourth.

“I’m really happy to head into the West Lites series break with another win up my sleeve,” said Canard. “It’s funny; when things aren't going so well you start to wonder why you put so much effort in day after day and why you put up with all the injuries along the way. But it takes just one good result and everything becomes worth it. I’m really pleased with the way I rode and feel I’m ready to take that next step and ride the Honda CRF450R. I’m so grateful that the Honda Red Bull Racing team has given me the opportunity to ride Shorty’s bike while he’s out injured, during the West Coast series break period. I start testing Monday and I’m super excited about that.”
