Honda Rearview Report: August 31 - September 9, 2016

"With two thirds of 2016 in the history books, we're thrilled to see Honda customers purchasing our products in record numbers. This week, we hit the one-million-sales mark earlier than ever before, as we head toward a third consecutive record year for the Honda brand, with strong demand for core models and Accord, Civic and CR-V, as the best retail-selling products in their respective segments.

Honda is one of only two automakers to grow its retail sales this year according toAutomotive News' retail sales data through August, and we're the fastest growing full-line mainstream brand in the industry with individual car buyers. So, we're achieving this sales success without the crutch of fleet business, customer cash or other distressed-merchandise marketing tactics.

Moreover, while most of the industry is leaning heavily on SUVs and light trucks for growth, Honda is seeing strong and balanced demand for both cars and light trucks. And we have more of both on the way. This month, we'll launch the latest addition to the 10th generation Civic lineup, the 2017 Civic Hatchback; and before the year is through, we'll have additional new Honda products to talk about.
