1988 Acura Legend Introduction

1988 ACURA LEGEND NOTED FOR TECHNICALLY ADVANCED ENGINE, SUSPENSION, BRAKING AND SAFETY SYSTEMS

The 1988 Acura Legend luxury performance automobiles continue the Acura tradition of innovative design, advanced technology and precision engineering.

For 1988 the Acura Legend is available in four-door Sedan and two-door Coupe body configurations. Both feature aerodynamic styling and low coefficient of drag (Cd) figures -- 0.32 for Sedan, 0.30 for Coupe. Design elements contributing to Legend's aerodynamic efficiency include a low, tapered hoodline, narrow flush-mounted halogen headlights, sharply sloped windshield and rear glass angles and high rear deck.

The smooth body surface includes nearly flush windows, flush door handles and taillights, and aerodynamically-shaped side mirrors that are flared into the leading edges of the doors. The Legend's flared fenders are smoothly contoured into the wheel housings and the front and rear bumpers are integrated into the body.

"The Acura Legend Sedan and Acura Legend Coupe are among the most technically advanced automobiles in the world," said Ed Taylor, vice president of the Acura Automobile Division. "By applying technology to the needs and desires of the driver, a true driver's car -- with performance, style, luxury and quality -- results,"
