Honda Civic Hybrid Wins 2002 INDUSTRYWEEK 'Technology of the Year Award'

The 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid, the first vehicle to integrate a gasoline-electric hybrid system into an existing high-sales volume automobile, has received the "INDUSTRYWEEK Technology of the Year Award."

INDUSTRYWEEK honored the Civic Hybrid in the publication's 10th annual "Technology and Innovation Awards Program." The editors of INDUSTRYWEEK, a leading manufacturing management magazine, selected the 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid as one of seven "Technologies of the Year" for 2002. A complete list of the winners and a profile of each winning technology are featured in INDUSTRYWEEK's December 2002 issue and at www.industryweek.com.

The editors solicit reader nominations in a judging process designed to recognize outstanding achievement in technology. To be eligible, candidate technologies must relate in a significant way to accomplishments and achievements in the current year. Winners of the awards span the range of science and engineering. The editors also seek developments that show great potential for redirecting business opportunities and creating new growth in the manufacturing world.
