Four HPD Honda Civic Si race machines dominated Sunday’s race in TCA in the SRO Touring Car America season at Circuit of the Americas, while the HPD Honda Civic Type R also earned podiums in TCX and TC.

TCX Honda Civic Type R
On Sunday, Kyle Loh started third on the grid in his LA Honda World Racing HPD Honda Civic Type R TCX, on the attack for second for most of the race. He briefly fell to fourth and made contact with another driver with less than two minutes remaining, but he regained his podium position by the checkers.

On Saturday, Daijiro Yoshihara started in the pole position for the fourth time this season. But a tire pressure issue due to a leaky valve stem caused him to fall to the back of the pack, finishing eighth.

TC Honda Civic Type R
Skip Barber Racing School’s Celso Neto and his HPD Honda Civic Type R started on the TC class pole Saturday. He defended his lead until the last 10 minutes of the race, when he fell to second, finishing on the podium. Meanwhile, VGRT’s Michael Hurczyn started sixth in TC, but brought his HPD Honda Civic Type R to third, also finishing on the podium Saturday.

On Sunday, Neto again started on the TC class pole, and finished third.

TCA Honda Civic Si
William Lambros started on pole in his Skip Barber Racing School HPD Honda Civic Si FE1 on Saturday, his first TC America career pole position. Lambros built a substantial lead in the first quarter of the race, but eventually fell to second, which he held to the finish.

Spencer Bucknum also posted a strong performance Saturday in the LA Honda World HPD Honda Civic Si FE1. He started third, and often found himself in close battle with Lambros throughout the 40-minute stint. After shuffling places several times among the top five, he finished on the podium.

Sunday started with HPD Honda Civic Si machines throughout the grid, with Lambros starting second, Bucknum in fourth, Mario Biundo in sixth in the LA Honda World Racing 10th-gen HPD Honda Civic Si, and Cooper Broll in eighth in the Skip Barber Racing School HPD Honda Civic Si FE1.

As Lambros and Bucknum were fighting among the top four, Biundo and Broll were steadily climbing positions. By the last 15 minutes, all four Honda racers reached the top four positions, with Lambros passing the checkered flag in first for his first TCA career win; Bucknum second; Biundo third for his career-first SRO podium finish; and Broll fourth.

Quote
William Lambros (#77 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si FE1), TCA race winner Sunday, after Sunday’s race: “I’m super excited; it was such a hardcore weekend. We finally got that win. We had two second-place finishes at NOLA and had fast pace this week. We struggled with brake fade, but we held it off this time.”
