Honda Rearview Report: January 14 - February 7, 2017

"Fulfilling a dream years in the making, the Acura NSX GT3 recently kicked off the 2017 racing season in grand fashion at the "Rolex 24" endurance race at Daytona International Speedway. Ultimately, the Michael Shank Racing and the NSX GT3 earned a fifth-place finish against 27 well-established cars in the GTD Class, while leading 171 laps and taking an early lead in the North America Endurance Championship.

What made the NSX GT3's racing debut so special was the incredible support we received from the team that played such a critical role in the creation of the Acura NSX. Key members of the R&D team that developed the NSX, and the craftsmen at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio who now build it made their way to Daytona, mostly on their own time and own dime, to see the NSX test its metal in the grueling 24-hour, 634-lap challenge.

Racing is in our blood, and our new foray into North American sports car racing with the amazing new NSX is an important part of our journey to sharpen and strengthen the Precision Crafted Performance roots of the Acura brand.

Much thanks to everyone at Acura Motorsports, Honda Performance Development and our racing partners, Michael Shank Racing and Realtime Racing, for their incredible effort, passion and unrelenting competitive spirit. You have bolstered our own commitment to putting Acura in the winner's circle -- on the circuit and on the street."
