For the third time this year, Colton Herta will lead the NTT INDYCAR SERIES field to green as he headed a Honda 1-2-3 in qualifying Saturday at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto street-course race. It is the eighth pole in 12 championship rounds for a Honda-powered INDYCAR driver in 2024.

Herta's Andretti Global teammate Kyle Kirkwood completed a front-row lockout for the Andretti team, while Felix Rosenqvist rounds out the all-Honda top three. Rosenqvist's Meyer Shank Racing stablemate, David Malukas also made the Firestone Fast Six, he will start P6 for tomorrow's race.

The Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto race is the third weekend and fourth race with the new INDYCAR SERIES hybrid system—known as the Energy Recovery System or ERS—as well as the first street course with the system. Introduced at Mid-Ohio, the ERS has run on a road course, oval and now a street circuit—marking each of the three circuit types the NTT INDYCAR SERIES competes on.

Quotes
Colton Herta (#26 Andretti Global Honda) pole qualifier, 2nd career Toronto pole and 3rd of the season, 14th career INDYCAR pole; 8th pole of the season for Honda: "We're always good here in Toronto, and our cars have been phenomenal on street courses this year. It's always exciting to drive on the streets of Toronto. But we need to win a race. That's obviously the main goal. Happy for everyone at Andretti and Honda – a 1-2 for Andretti and 1-2-3 for Honda."

Kyle Kirkwood (#27 Andretti Global Honda) qualified 2nd: "Super happy with our pace today, the Honda power has been great all weekend. I think we led all but one session throughout this weekend, including qualifying, A great day for Andretti and Honda, locking out the front row, and we're looking forward to the race tomorrow."

Felix Rosenqvist (#60 Meyer Shank Racing Honda) qualified 3rd: "Good qually. I think we actually improved throughout qualifying. We improved the car a bit. The [softer, alternate] tires weren't in great condition for the Fast Six, but I feel like I put together the best lap I could. Good job to Colton and a hell of a run for our team here."

Pat Mihalik (HRC US Trackside Hybrid Lead): "It's been a great start to the Hybrid era. Thank you to all of the men and women at HRC and Andretti Global for the front row lockout at Toronto. Looking forward to finishing on a strong note for tomorrow! It's our 8th pole of the season for Honda and hopefully we can convert it into another victory around the streets of Toronto."
