Honda 'Element Surfing' Game Debuts for Mobile Phone Gamers

American Honda Motor Co.,Inc., and Thumbworks™, a publisher of mobile phone gaming applications, today announced the debut of Element Surfing™, a surfing arcade game for mobile phones that integrates the Honda Element light truck into the game design.

Element Surfing is a multi-level action-arcade game in which players earn points by collecting objects and by performing a variety of outrageous tricks. The game features a variety of beaches and increasing complexity as players advance from one level to the next. To add to the fun, players can sign up to receive a series of secret codes via text message that can make it easier to win or introduce crazy variations to the gameplay. A special Web site (www.elementsurfing.com) provides game tips and a nationwide high scorers' list.

"Element Surfing requires both skill and strategy, but it doesn't take itself too seriously, " said Craig Holland, president of Thumbworks ™. "We expect it to be fun for everyone-whether or not they've ever ridden a wave."

"We think a wireless game is a great way to introduce active young people to the Honda Element without being heavy-handed about it," said Mark Panoncialman, an E-Business senior project leader at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Wireless games are all about having fun while you're on the go, and that is pretty much what the Element is about as well."

To play the game, cell phone subscribers will be able to download it onto their handsets through a wireless, over-the-air connection. An unlimited-use version of the game is expected to cost less than five dollars, with the charge appearing on the subscriber's subsequent cellular phone bill. The game will be available through most wireless carriers, including Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, Boost Mobile, T-Mobile, Alltel and others.

The Honda Element delivers an affordable, rugged and adaptable platform ideal for surfing, biking, snowboarding and other activities by incorporating the best traits of a pickup with a hard flat floor, an SUV with a rear enclosed area and a car with responsive handling and good fuel economy.
