Honda Holds Onsite Clinics to Encourage Associates to Get COVID-19 Vaccine

COVID-19 vaccine clinics scheduled in Alabama, California, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio and Texas

In partnership with local government and public health organizations and healthcare providers, Honda is holding onsite vaccine clinics throughout its U.S. operations to make COVID-19 vaccines as accessible as possible for its associates.

Vaccine clinics are scheduled from now through early May for Honda locations in Alabama, California, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio and Texas. These latest events are in addition to clinics held in March at Honda Aircraft Company in Greensboro, N.C. and at Honda's South Carolina Manufacturing facility in Timmonsville, S.C. All clinics are administered by licensed healthcare providers, and many are open to eligible family members in addition to Honda associates. Honda is providing incentives through its company wellness program to associates who are vaccinated.

"The health and safety of our associates is our top priority," said Rick Schostek, executive vice president, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "We are encouraging Honda associates to get vaccinated to help stop the spread of the virus within our communities. We are pleased to provide these associate clinics as the latest step in Honda's efforts to help defeat COVID-19, but none of this would be possible without the strong working relationships we have with our government and healthcare providers."

Honda's healthcare providers for its vaccine clinics include: Coosa Valley Medical Center (Alabama), The Kroger Co. (California and Texas), Walmart (Georgia), Decatur County Memorial Hospital (Indiana), Mercy Health (Ohio), Starmount Healthcare (North Carolina), and McLeod Health (South Carolina).

Honda has also partnered with Kroger Co. to provide the opportunity for associates to schedule COVID- 19 vaccination appointments at Kroger and its affiliate locations* in areas without access to onsite vaccine clinics.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Honda has taken steps to meet health and safety guidelines in the workplace to help reduce the spread of the virus. These steps include onsite COVID-19 testing, process adjustments, temperature checks, face coverings, social distancing and remote work when possible.
From the outset of the pandemic, Honda has supported its customers and business partners throughout North America and assisted communities where people are suffering the devastating effects of this health crisis. These efforts have included:

  • $1 million donation and an associate matching gift program to address food insecurity in communities across North America;
  • Donation of EG2800i portable electrical generators to state and county health departments to provide on-site power to vaccination clinics;
  • Donation of face shields to healthcare workers at medical facilities in 45 states;
  • Modification of 10 Honda Odyssey minivans for use by the City of Detroit to transport people for COVID-19 testing and vaccination appointments;
  • Production and donation of diaphragm compressors, a key component of portable ventilators used in hospitals and by first responders to help those stricken with the virus.
