NSX
The NSX has earned its status as one of the world's premier exotic sports cars with a combination of head turning performance and contemporary styling. For 2002, the NSX's styling has been updated to modernize its look and its chassis was refined to ensure its competitiveness as a true world class sports car. The NSX features all-aluminum construction and is powered by an advanced 290 horsepower DOHC, VTEC, V-6 engine coupled to a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission. When equipped with the optional 4-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift™, the NSX engine generates 252 horsepower.
RL
As Acura's flagship luxury sedan, the 3.5 RL epitomizes the performance, luxury and craftsmanship that define the Acura brand. The 2002 RL combines a spacious, fully featured interior with a more powerful 225 horsepower V-6 engine and revised, sport-tuned, double wishbone suspension for exceptional performance, handling and ride comfort. The 2002 RL includes the Onstar® in-vehicle communications and assistance service linking the driver with a variety of features including emergency roadside assistance, available Personal Calling and Virtual Advisor and route guidance. The RL also features an advanced side air bag system with front-passenger height and position sensors and a dual-stage, front passenger supplemental restraint system (SRS) airbag. Comprehensively equipped, the only factory option for the RL is the DVD-based Acura Satellite-Linked Navigation System.
TL
The Acura 3.2 TL continues to be the top-selling luxury performance sedan in the United States. For 2002, the TL gets a host of enhancements and a new high-performance sibling, the TL Type-S. While the TL's all-aluminum, V-6 engine produces 225 horsepower, the Type-S boasts a 3.2-liter V-6 that produces 260 horsepower. Like the 3.2 TL, the Type-S uses Acura's Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC™) system to boost both torque and power. Both models come with a 5-speed, Sequential SportShift™ automatic transmission and a comprehensive list of standard features. Exterior styling enhancements for 2002 include a redesigned front end with a more aggressive front grille, new head and taillights, and revised badging. Inside, the Acura/Bose Music System now comes standard with a 6-disc, in-dash CD changer.
CL
Introduced last spring, the Acura 3.2 CL luxury performance coupe is setting a strong sales pace while boosting the brand's performance image. Offering impressive performance, responsive handling and an abundance of luxury features, the CL coupe comes in two distinct models - the fully-featured CL and the high-performance CL Type-S. Both CL models offer state-of-the-art technology, advanced safety engineering and a comprehensive list of standard luxury amenities.
RSX
With the RSX sports coupe, Acura replaces the entry-level Integra with a car that boasts a sophisticated combination of performance and features designed to meet the needs of discriminating youthful driving enthusiasts. The RSX boasts an innovative 160 horsepower, DOHC, 2.0-liter engine with an i-VTEC "intelligent" valve-control system, a 5-speed manual or 5-speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission, all-new steering and suspension systems and a fully-featured interior. The high-performance RSX Type-S bumps engine output to 200 horsepower, comes exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission, and features sport suspension, leather seating and an Acura/Bose® Music System.
MDX
Acura's new luxury sport utility vehicle, the MDX, has set the standard for luxury SUVs, garnering a host of prestigious awards. Crisply styled, the MDX offers a powerful engine, a versatile and roomy interior, segment-leading fuel economy, and outstanding all-weather handling.
The MDX combines a highly rigid unit-body structure, an advanced all-aluminum 3.5 liter VTEC™ V-6 engine generating 240 horsepower and 245 lb.-ft. of torque, a 5-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel independent suspension to deliver sports sedan-like driving performance. In addition, the MDX employs Acura's innovative, fully automatic VTM-4™ four-wheel drive system, which delivers a truly superior level of driver control in all types of weather and road conditions.
Improvements for 2002 include thicker windshield glass, redesigned outside mirrors and an acoustic roof lining for less wind noise and a quieter ride. An intermittent rear windshield wiper and the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system for the second row of seats are now also standard.
