All-New CR-V: All-Around Class Leader in Functionality and Safety
Since its launch in 1997, the Honda CR-V quickly became a leader in its segment and in the Honda model lineup. All-new styling and a larger, more refined interior and more environmental performance (expected to meet the new LEV-2 emission standards) keep CR-V at the top of its class and elevate it through providing unexpected luxury with high levels of sportiness.
With increased engine size and a new 4-wheel independent suspension, the CR-V offers increased ride comfort with better sedan-like handling and faster acceleration. Available in two trim levels with either manual or automatic transmission and 2WD or 4WD, the CR-V suits the needs of the economy-minded or comfort obsessed.
Civic: Best-Selling Small Car in America
For 2002, the Civic receives extensive enhancements, including improved handling, convenience and performance. Powered by a 1.7-liter ULEV engine, several refinements to the Coupe and Sedan feature a revised steering feel, added insulation for reduced noise and new damper settings for reduced vibration and handling.
Inside the Civic, the refinements continue with upgraded silver trim panels around the shift area for all Sedans, chrome interior door handles for LX/EX/GX Sedans, and a center console sliding door, radio pocket lid and driver's arm rest added to LX. In addition, coming in the first quarter of next year, are an all-new Si Hatchback and Hybrid models.
Accord: Best-Selling Car in America
Entering the fifth year of its current model cycle as the best-selling car in America, the 2002 Accord lineup will feature two new models. The Accord SE (Special Edition) will be based on the 4-cylinder LX trim level with an automatic transmission and available in both Sedan and Coupe models. Featuring a power moon roof, driver's seat power height adjustment and a three-in-one stereo system, the SE is equipped with remote security and keyless entry.
The Accord VP (Value Package) will be based on the DX sedan with an automatic transmission. Available in Sedan and Coupe styling, the Accord remains a class leader in quality, safety, sophisticated engineering, refinement and value. Offering a three-in-one AM/FM stereo, cassette and CD player, the Value Package includes air conditioning, wood trim interior and floor mats.
Insight: Equipped With Advanced Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission
The Honda Insight continues its forward-thinking approach to the transportation and environmental challenges facing the future by offering an advanced continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). With EPA fuel economy ratings of 57 mpg in the city, 56 mpg highway and a driving range of more than 500 miles, the Insight CVT is the most fuel-efficient vehicle in America with an automatic transmission.
It is also the second most fuel-efficient vehicle overall - behind only the Insight equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission with EPA ratings of 61 mpg city and 68 mpg highway. The CVT is completely automatic and provides an infinite range of gear ratios for smooth and stepless shifting, combined with maximum efficiency and performance. These advantages make the CVT an ideal transmission for the high-mileage Insight hybrid.
S2000 Roadster: Demand Never Been Stronger
The essence of Honda's racing spirit and heritage is reflected in every aspect of the S2000. A true driver's car, the S2000 springs to life at the touch of a button. Its 16-valve, DOHC (dual overhead cam) VTEC (variable valve timing and lift electronic control) engine is rated at 240 horsepower, giving it class-leading performance. Optimum 50/50 weight distribution and a highly rigid body design contribute to exceptional handling qualities.
Exceptional performance is coupled with a number of refinements for 2002 including a glass rear window with defroster, an improved transmission for smoother and quieter shifts, and an upgraded stereo system with door mounted tweeters. Inside refinements include an upgraded center console, door panel net storage pockets, new aluminum and leather shift knob, and silver trim accents.
Odyssey: The New Minivan Standard
The 2002 Odyssey will feature more changes than any mid-term model in Honda's history with an eye towards moving the Odyssey to an even higher standard. The current Odyssey minivan debuted as the largest Honda ever - longer, wider and more powerful than its previous offering. The 2002 model is no different.
New for 2002, an increase in horsepower from 210 to 240, an all-new 5-speed automatic transmission, new rear disc brakes are now standard, leather seating is available, the industry's first factory-installed DVD rear entertainment system and a host of new cup holders, bag hooks and grab rails inside.
Passport: Rugged Off-Road Leader
The Honda Passport adds important equipment and safety features for 2002, with rear disc brakes for all 4WD models, "LATCH" (Lower Anchor Tethers for CHildren) system, and an eight speaker stereo system for all models. In addition for 2002, the top-of-the-line EX luxury model features 4-way power driver's seat, special two-tone paint, and in-dash 6-CD changer. All Passports now get UV treated glass for front doors and rear hatch.
