Honda Rearview Report: June 28 - July 5, 2019

"This past weekend saw a tremendous display of Honda's Racing Spirit, most notably in Austria, where Max Verstappen delivered our first victory in this fourth era of Honda Formula 1 racing. But it's just one piece of Honda's global motorsports footprint.

Here in the U.S., Honda and Acura were both racing to checkered flags at Watkins Glen with the #86 NSX GT3 Evo and Civic Type R TCR. And in Colorado, Acura was climbing Pikes Peak for an 8th straight year, carding a 3rd consecutive Open Class win with the TLX GT as one of five Acura cars and SUVs joining in the "Race to the Clouds."

In IndyCar, Honda leads the Manufacturer's Championship, with Alexander Rossi a close second in the Drivers' Championship. And on two wheels, Honda rider Marc Marquez leads the rider championship in MotoGP.

Our company founder, Soichiro Honda, famously said that 'If Honda does not race, there is no Honda.' Those words speak to an enduring commitment to competition and to taking on the challenge that has defined our company throughout its history. This past week was unquestionably a wonderful time to be a Honda associate and to share with all of our customers, fans and racing enthusiasts the world over, the Racing Spirit of Honda."
