All-time record sales
of the MDX luxury sport utility vehicle and strong demand for the
RSX
sports coupe pushed Acura March sales to 15,922, a 3.3
percent
increase compared to last year based on a daily selling rate,
Acura
announced today.
With 5,083 units sold, the MDX shattered the previous all-time monthly sales record of 4,365 set in February. The year-to-date total for the MDX climbed to 12,871, a 12.7 percent increase compared to last year. Sales of the all-new RSX sports coupe remained brisk, with March sales of 2,782 units pushing year-to-date sales to 7,294. Sales of the Acura RL luxury sedan improved 3.9 percent from last year with sales of 858 units.
"The continued strength of the entire market is encouraging," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president. "Our newest models continue to be very hot and as 2003 CLs and TLs arrive in showrooms, we expect to see Acura sales continue to grow."
