American Honda Adds Auto Executive to Lead Auto Business

  • Mamadou Diallo returns to American Honda as executive vice president of the Auto Business Center, effective October 1
  • With decades of leadership experience, Diallo will lead U.S. auto sales business strategy and cross-functional initiatives between sales, parts and service operations

American Honda Motor Co., Inc., today announced that Mamadou Diallo will return to the company as executive vice president of the Auto Business Center effective October 1, building on recent sales leadership changes announced in July, as the company advances strategic priorities, including a renewed focus on Customer Lifetime Loyalty, vehicle affordability and a major expansion of hybrid vehicle sales, development and production in the U.S.

Diallo brings decades of automotive leadership experience to the new role, which will include the Honda and Acura automobile sales, marketing, and product planning, plus parts and service operations in the U.S. With over 20 years of experience at American Honda in key sales and product planning positions, Diallo has deep knowledge of the company, its dealer network and the evolving needs of Honda and Acura customers, which will speed his transition into the senior leader role.

"We are very pleased to add Mamadou's proven experience and perspective to our auto sales leadership team, strengthening our ability to serve our customers and advance dealer relations," said Eiji Fujimura, CEO of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Mamadou will help lead our auto business as we drive strategic collaboration across the organization focused on advancing customer lifetime loyalty and increasing value for money as the foundation to achieve significant growth of our business in the U.S. in the coming years."

Diallo joined American Honda in 2001 and held a wide variety of positions within the company's Auto Sales organization, supporting both the Honda and Acura brands. His experience includes field operations roles in the Mid-Atlantic, Southwest and Central regions, as well as National Sales roles at the company's headquarters in Torrance, Calif. In 2017, Diallo was named senior manager of Acura National Sales, overseeing U.S. sales activities for the Acura brand. He later became assistant vice president of Acura National Sales, Incentives and Strategy in 2019; vice president of Auto Operations in 2021, with oversight over Product Planning, Production Planning and Logistics; followed by the appointment to senior vice president of Auto Sales in 2023.
