  • 1,425 vehicles will be recalled in the United States to replace the certification labels affixed to the doorjamb
  • Incorrect ink was used to print the labels, allowing required information to be erased when cleaned

TORRANCE, Calif. – American Honda will voluntarily recall 1,425 Honda CR-V and Acura RDX vehicles from the 2017 model year in the United States to replace the certification label affixed to the driver’s doorjamb, free of charge. Incorrect ink was used to print the labels denoting weight ratings, tire size and other required certification information (49 CFR, Part 567). This ink can be removed if the labels are cleaned with certain common cleaners, potentially erasing the required information.

Honda and Acura are announcing this recall to encourage each owner of an affected vehicle to take it to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda or Acura. Mailed notification to customers will begin in early-June 2017. Owners of these models can also determine if their vehicles are affected by visiting www.recalls.honda.com and www.recalls.acura.com or by calling (888) 234- 2138.
