Insight and Civic GX Score Highest Ranking in 2001 ACEEE Green Book Civic HX and LX in Top Ten

The Honda Insight hybrid and natural gas powered Honda Civic GX tied as the "Greenest Vehicles for 2001" as chosen by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) for the ACEEE's Green Book: The Environmental Guide to Cars and Trucks - Model Year 2001. The Civic HX and Civic LX were also ranked among ACEEE's top ten list of most-environmentally friendly vehicles. "Green Scores" are based on emissions levels, fuel-economy tests and other specifications reported by auto manufacturers, and fall on a scale of zero to 100. The Civic GX and Insight both earned a "Green Score" of 53, two points ahead of the second place vehicle. The Civic HX ranked fourth of the "Greenest Vehicles of 2001," and the Civic LX was seventh.
