Acura announced
September sales of 13,006, a 14.7 percent increase from last year.
The September numbers also pushed 2001 model year sales figures to
165,983, up 24.7 percent from last year and the best in the
division's 15-year history.
The 3.2 TL luxury performance sedan remained the best-selling vehicle in its class for the second straight model year, posting September sales of 5,151 and a model year record of 68,229. Sales of the 3.2 CL luxury performance coupe also remained strong with September sales of 1,296.
Two new hot-selling vehicles helped boost sales figures. The award-winning MDX luxury SUV was a top seller for Acura in its first year of production with model year sales of 39,799 units. In addition, since its arrival in July, the RSX sports coupe is off to a fast start, selling 2,703 units in September and 8,448 in its first three months on the market.
