Nick Sugimoto is the Chief Executive Officer of Honda Innovations (formally, Honda R&D Innovations, Inc.), based in Mountain View, California. In this role, Sugimoto oversees transformative collaborations within all areas of Honda, including product development, manufacturing, and new business creation.
Previously, Sugimoto served as the Senior Program Director leading the Honda Silicon Valley Lab, then a division of Honda R&D Americas, Inc., and led the corporate venture capital program at Honda Research Institute, Inc., where he invested in a number of innovative startup companies and built strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining Honda, Sugimoto was a successful entrepreneur leading a series of technology venture companies in both the U.S. and Japan.
Sugimoto received his engineering degree from the University of Tokyo and MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California - Berkeley.
