The 2006 Honda Civic Si was developed for the street by Honda R&D Americas in Raymond, OH. Honda R&D now takes the Si to the track by being the first to develop a racecar from the 2006 Si. Built to NASA US Touring Car Championship specs in preparation for the 2005 25 Hours of Thunderhill, the engine was rebuilt to USTCC specifications and controlled by a Honda R&D proprietary race tuned stock ECU. Engine modifications include an AEM intake and DC Sports race header and exhaust. Power is put to the ground through Michelin Pilot Sport Cup (dry) or Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 (wet) tires depending on conditions. The chassis is augmented by a H&R race suspension developed in conjunction with Honda R&D engineers. Aerodynamic enhancements are handled by an APR front splitter and rear spoiler.
