Defect / Noncompliance Description

*Describe the defect or noncompliance:
Due to improper manufacturing, the electronic transmission’s generator resolver cover may have been broken during the assembly process. The broken pieces potentially can cut the resolver wires during vehicle operation, resulting in a loss of engine power.

*Describe the safety risk:
The engine potentially can lose power during vehicle operation. If the vehicle loses power, the driver may be unable to restart and operate the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Describe the cause:
The generator resolver cover was installed out of sequence during the manufacturing process.

Identify the Remedy

Describe the defect / noncompliance remedy program, including the manufacturer’s plan for reimbursement:
Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer. The dealer will replace the e-CVT transmission.

Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense will be eligible for
reimbursement, in accord with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.

Dealer notification is scheduled to being and end on or about 8/18/2023. Owner notification is scheduled to begin and end on or about 10/11/2023.
