Honda Rearview Report: July 18 - July 24, 2015

"The spotlight that shined so brightly on our newly unveiled Silicon Valley R&D facility this week symbolizes our commitment to advanced technology and vehicle connectivity for the benefit of our customers. So, there could not have been a more appropriate place to launch the significantly redesigned 2016 Honda Accord than in the nation's technology hub of Silicon Valley.

This is the most high-tech Accord ever built, and now the highest-volume vehicle in the entire industry to offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay®. Upgrades to Accord technology also include the adoption of Honda Sensing™, a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies.

Opening the doors to our new Silicon Valley R&D facility this week also was an opportunity to showcase our focus on sparking game changing innovations in the automotive industry. Through a new open innovation initiative, the just-announced Honda Xcelerator, we will provide resources to technology innovators to help rapidly develop prototypes with the potential to transform the automotive experience.  Our talented team in Silicon Valley is key to our future efforts to provide our customers with a more enjoyable, efficient and safe mobility experience – and it is a promising future."
