What to Watch for on the streets of Markham
- Hit your Mark(ham): The NTT INDYCAR SERIES travels to a brand-new street circuit this weekend for the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham. Markham, Ontario is a suburb of Toronto and home to more than 300,000 people. As with all the new circuits in IndyCar, preparation for this event begins in the simulator. HRC US's Driver-In-The-Loop simulator provides our teams and drivers with the best tools available to prepare them for the unknowns of new circuits like Markham. - 6ix on the season: Alex Palou scored his sixth win of the season last time out at Portland International Raceway, as part of an all-Honda podium, further extending his championship lead to 110 points—11 more points than he had over his competitors at this same point last year. Palou became the third driver in NTT INDYCAR SERIES history to have back-to-back seasons with six or more wins. His previous victories this season have come at St. Petersburg, Barber, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Detroit and Nashville. Palou is looking for his first win north of the border this weekend at Markham, having a best finish of second on the streets of Toronto.
- Street smarts: Honda teams and drivers have won at every street circuit so far in 2026, including three all-Honda podium sweeps, making up four of Honda's eight wins on the year. Palou took the win at St. Petersburg, as well as leading Honda podium sweeps at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach and Detroit. While Kyle Kirkwood led an all-Honda podium in the inaugural Java House Grand Prix of Arlington. Honda has been the dominant manufacturer on street courses in recent IndyCar history—taking wins at all five streets circuit events in 2023, and at three of four in both 2024 and 2025. The impressive showing at street circuits this year has helped Honda amass a strong lead in the manufacturers' championship, 1129-996.
- Due North: While the Markham street circuit is a new endeavor for IndyCar, Honda-powered drivers and teams have a history of success in the Toronto area, winning 13 times in both CART and INDYCAR competition, most recently with Colton Herta leading home a Honda 1-7 in the 2024 edition of the race—completing three race wins in a row for Honda in Toronto. Christian Lundgaard won the 2023 event, his first NTT INDYCAR SERIES win, while Scott Dixon scored his fourth win on the streets of Toronto in 2022. Dario Franchitti, Will Power, Michael Andretti, Alex Zanardi and Adrian Fernandez have also scored wins for Honda on the streets of Exhibition Place.

Where to Watch the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham
